If there is any change from the furnished information contained in the valid existing FSSAI Food License, an FBO shall apply for a Modification of a Food License.

For opening a new branch of the same FBO, is it mandatory to modify the license?
FSSAI license is registered on the basis of the business premises only. So in case of opening of a new food corner, an individual has to obtain a new food license. FSSAI modification is not applicable here.
What if my modification application gets cancelled by the licensing authority?
If any FBO’s Modification Application is rejected by the Authority, the particular FBO is needed to stop their business operation till the Modification part gets completed.
For launching a new food product in the licensed FBO, is it necessary to apply for modification?
Yes. FSSAI License Modification is needed to be executed in case of launching a new food product or service in any licensed FBO
Do I need to get Basic FSSAI registration or State or Central license?

FSSAI registration depends on the turnover and the type of business. Usually, if your annual turnover is below Rs 12 lakhs, then you need to acquire Basic Fssai Registration. Else, you need State or Central license.

What is the validity of my FSSAI Registration/license?

The validity of FSSAI registration varies from 1 to 5 years. A person needs to apply for FSSAI renewal accordingly.

I am a Food Caterer operating in a railway stations. Do, I require FSSAI State license?

All the Food Caterers operating at the government establishments such as railway stations and airports require FSSAI Central License.

What are the criteria for FSSAI Central license for the transporters of the food products?

Vendors with a turnover less than 30 crore and owning up to 100 wagons, require FSSAI State License. Those with turnover more than 30 crore and owning more than 100 wagons require FSSAI Central License.

“Recall” means action taken by the Food Service Provider to withdraw any food item from market, which is not complying Section 28 of FSS Act, 2006.

Which license is required by a FBO to run a business in more than two states?

A Food Business Operator operating in more than two States has to acquire Central License for its registered Office and separate license for each units depending upon the turnover from the concerned State/ Central Licensing Authority.

FSSAI license for food under Railways premises are issued by the Railways Designated Officers.
